my blog has been about music, but i write things occassionally

I do not know who you do that for... i have never understood buying something or dressing a certain way so you can “fit in” with a certain group or have a certain look. I work with a guy who has literally said things like “well this is my skater look” or “I am going out with a girl from wicker park so i have to dress this way.” There are tons of girls i have met that are even worse. Here is the thing, to everyone, but especially you lovely ladies out there. Dress however the fuck you want. The more comfortable you feel and the more “pretty” you feel in your clothes, the more comfortable and pretty other people are going to perceive you. Especially me. I love the idea of dressing up to impress someone, but do it in a way that is not a costume. Don’t put something on because you think you have to, do it because you want to. There is so much about fashion i have never understood. I will never pretend that i do. But when it comes down to it, clothes are there for you. It is just like confidence, it you feel confident, people will see it in you. If you feel attractive, there is someone out there that will find you attractive. I LOVE tattoos. But you need a reason to have them. If you are getting a mustache on the inside of your finger or an owl or something else that is very trendy right now, what meaning does it have to you? I have one tattoo that i got on a whim, out of 2 half sleeves. But the thing is, it was something i have always liked, always wanted, and i got it 7 years, almost to the day, from when i got my second tattoo ever. I wear, and have worn for years, t=shirts, jeans, hoodies, and flannel shirts. It is just what i like, sure they are sometimes popular and easier to find in stores than other times because of trends, but that is how i feel most comfortable I am not blameless in all of this either. I have bought things that afterwards i was like, “why the fuck do i even have this?” and it has always been because someone said i should or because i “looked good in it.” Fuck that. Let me be comfortable. Let me be me. I can promise you, i will be myself to you. I will be true to myself and not pretend to be something you want me to be. All i ask is that you do the same.
