mid-afternoon post of procrastination

hello. How are you enjoying the new Sainte Catherines and Make Do and Mend albums? Yeah? Me too. I have not been able to pull the trigger on the none more black album, it is just not catching me in the right place yet. Tumbledown (at least the teasers) sounded too jokey to me.

Also, this week has brought me to finally buy some Misfits music, perfect for Halloween. I am kind of in a weird place for music, but more on that on another post. It is formulating in my head.

But, who likes free music? Punknews.org has some "Fest" related compilations as does free music abundant, Death To False Hope Records.

Take the time to check DTFH records, they have some good stuff.

i forgot some

so tumbledown and none more black have albums out today too. I guess work is getting in the way of my music addiction.

stuff you should buy that is new today

2 albums are out today that you should pick up.

Make Do and Mend "End Measured Mile"

The Sainte Catherines "Fire Works"
Fire Works

there is some other stuff today you might like. Senses Fail have a new album, I listened to the samples on Amazon and it does not do anything for me. It is the same compressed sounding metal in the background and did not really have the substance i have been looking for lately. I feel like there are other albums out today that I missed, but really, the 2 i picked up (featured above) are 2 that i have been waiting for a while now.

surprise of the week

(sorry for the lack of any real content lately, I pretty much hate my job right now and it is sucking my soul out)

So, I have talked, I think, about RED CITY RADIO and how great they are as a band. Well, yesterday, I got a cool surprise of finding out that they released an EP while we are waiting for their new full-length to come called "Spinning in circles is a gateway drug."

I downloaded it on my iphone before leaving work and I have since listened to the 3 tracks back to back every instant that I have listened to music today. It is that damn good. Think Hot Water Music if they started today. A little less dense sounding, more jangly, definitely awesome

Check out both of their albums by clicking the album covers below.

Hey, the Rise Against DVD came out today

consistently one of the best bands out there, Rise Against have released a DVD today entitled "Another Station:Another Mile"

check out some clips below

There is a ton of new music this week

I am kind of having buyers remorse for buying the new Chiodos album, especially since there is so much good new music out today.

Don't get me wrong, it is a great album, but it is not really what I am into listening to right now. I dunno, they have a new singer, formally of Yesterday's Rising, which was a great band and it is definitely a step above anything they did with Craig Owens. It is a solid album that has more depth than what they have previously created. The vocals have much more power. Craig was a more soaring sound, while this has more impact. It sounds important, I just can't get into it today. Maybe today is just a bad day for that kind of music for me.

Below is a list of other things I want to check out/purchase

None More Black have a song up on Fat Wreck Chords' site

Go to this LINK and check out a new track from None More Black off of their upcoming new album "Icons." It sounds a lot like LaGrecia and None More Black had a baby. Makes sense considering they have some of the same members. Here is my "had to do it" moment, maybe they should call it LaGrecia None More.

that was dumb, i'm sorry.

As tall as lions are no more

i guess AS TALL AS LIONS are calling it quits:

After eight years of music, friendship, laughter, adventure, bliss, blood, sweat, tears, and everything else that goes along with it, As Tall As Lions are retiring for the foreseeable future. There is no sadness on our side, and we hope there is none on yours. We will be playing a handful of shows across the country to try and give everyone an opportunity to see us one last time. Our sincerest apologies to those who can't join us at these celebrations, but know you will be there in spirit. Much love to you all, and thanks again for everything.

this band was/is great. if you have not heard them, click the covers below and check them out.
